My holistic journey began when I was 12, the morning I woke up with a face full of acne. Desperate, I visited one doctor after the next, trying numerous pharmaceuticals and contraceptive pills. While some offered fleeting relief, the reprieve never lasted.
Years later, I finally quit pharmaceutical drugs and the symptoms of imbalance they had masked wreaked havoc. My periods were irregular and excruciatingly painful. My acne came back with a vengeance. Soon, I was diagnosed with PCOS and slapped with an infertility label.
